Northrop Grumman Recognizes 24 Suppliers for Continued Commitment to its Global Supplier Diversity Programs

FALLS CHURCH, Va., Dec. 4, 2014 /PRNewswire/ -- Northrop Grumman Corporation (NYSE: NOC) has honored 24 suppliers for their outstanding performance in support of its Global Supplier Diversity Programs (GSDP).

This is the 24th year that Northrop Grumman has recognized its suppliers with World Class Team awards for supporting the GSDP (formerly known as Socio-Economic Business Programs), which strives to ensure that capable small businesses, including small disadvantaged, women-owned, veteran-owned and service-disabled veteran-owned, companies located in historically underutilized business zones, AbilityOne organizations, lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender owned concerns and Historically Black Colleges/Universities and Minority Institutions, receive the maximum practicable subcontracting opportunities on all major programs.

The extensive review of suppliers began last summer with awards given to companies demonstrating exceptional support and commitment to the GSDP goals and objectives using criteria such as product, service, quality and record. Other considerations included demonstrated delivery performance, outstanding program support, superior technical achievement and reported cost performance/competitiveness and/or continuous process improvement.

The company has met and exceeded the 23 percent small business statutory goals for more than 10 consecutive years and has received numerous awards and recognition for its global supplier diversity programs.

Earlier this year, Northrop Grumman was rated the third best company in the nation for providing business opportunities to diverse business owners by DiversityBusiness.com. More than 1.3 million diversity business owners participated in an online election to determine the top 50 organizations.
